Sara Diaz, 1990, México. Mother and visual artist, specialized in self-managed theater, audiovisual, and documentary photography projects. Exhibited and published works in magazines and festivals in Barcelona, Madrid, Italy, and Estonia. Winner of NOCTURNE-fest Международный фотоконкурс in 2022.
Currently, developing as an independent researcher of alternative pedagogical methodologies with anti-capitalist, anti-patriarchal, and anti-racist bases focused on expressive arts for children.
“The tulip” is an invitation to reflect upon the 4 planes of development theory represented by Maria Montessori through the Tulip Bulb chart is an organic representation of human development where an unborn child is a tulip bulb,- black and asymmetric, wider parts refer to children’s periods of psychological and physical metamorphosis, the green areas are the transitional periods where specific needs arise and must be attended for successful development, the Soil represents the environment where they are flourished and nurtured.
What is our true relationship with the beings that coexist with us? By opting for a non-anthropocentric vision of life, a true awakening can occur and we may act in the defense of our bodies, of others’ bodies, both human and nonhuman, the territories that traverse us and therefore the defense for life itself.
The challenge of the new societies is to nurture human tulips, where they may be able to satisfy their physical, psychological, and spiritual needs from birth to develop into caring humans that can help deconstruct the structures of oppression and reconstruct and evolve to the new worlds that are already existing where every being can be nurtured and be satisfied in their own liberty as well.
