Blom uses a diaristic method to study isolated, overlooked lapses of time to build observational portraitures as a reflection of the spaces we inhabit. In this painting she draws attention to the anxiety around a child discovering the complexity of contradictory emotions.
Anna Blom is a Swedish born, London-based artist who holds a MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art (2022) and a BFA in Painting from UAL Wimbledon (2020). Blom’s work represents a cut of life and a continuous narrative of immediate surroundings. She deconstructs the fragile details of the warp and weft, the baseline of our daily existence. With a diaristic methodology, she studies nuances of isolated mundane moments, discovering the overlooked and unseen that occupy our meticulously assembled environment.
