I may have given birth to the child, but being a mother doesn't pay off. From now on, I'm the father!
Hannah Kindler (1987) is a multidisciplinary artist from Freiburg, Germany, who studied art at Rietveld Academie Amsterdam and DAI Roaming Assembly Arnhem, Netherlands. Their work explores gender as a means of constructing reality and challenges societal norms through an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach. Kindler’s work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums in Germany, Netherlands, and Switzerland.
In Kindler’s work, the concept of reality is explored and the idea that there is not just one truth, but multiple perspectives and experiences is emphasized. Through an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach, societal norms and the systems of power that shape our understanding of the world are challenged. Kindler uses their own experiences as a starting point to dismantle social constructs and question the boundaries set up by society and the limitations of our own perception. The viewer is invited to enter a process of “making and unmaking” and to consider the multiple realities that exist around us.
