Louisa Bermingham BFA, MAT, is a Bermudian artist and mother of 3. She studied at the Rhode Island School of Design receiving a BFA in textile design and Masters of Art in Teaching. Louisa has worked in a range of mixed media over the years most notably her series that was recently published in book format by Valley Press in 2019 entitled “She was a hairy bear, she was a scary bear”. Currently, her work is acrylic on canvas. It explores freedom of mark, pattern, texture and colour within simple compositions. She has participated in a multitude of solo and group exhibitions both in Bermuda and the United States and is in the collections of the Bermuda National Gallery, Masterworks foundation and various public and private collections in Bermuda and USA.
