„Stella Scintillante” Varnish on Salt Dough, Paperstraws, 21.8x 21.8 x 3.3 cm, 2020
Stella Scintillante belongs to a series of wall works made of salt dough. It shows a star, a multitude of breasts that have been painted and have a framing made of paper straws.
The lacquering of the salt dough objects makes them look more valuable. Their surface is reminiscent of
porcelain. The framing reminds us of devotional objects. The series of about 5 stars was created between 2020-2022.
Stella Scintillante was created shortly after the birth of my second child, during the Corona crisis.
The breast is both nourisher and protector for the infant. It provides security and warmth. For centuries, the
breast was a guarantee for the survival of the infant. The series of works is a small monument to the female breast.
