Franziska Burkhardt has been dealing with the ambivalences and taboos that motherhood entails since being abandoned by the father of her child and the experience of being a single parent. For a while, she regretted her decision to become a mother. She speaks in public on the subject of Regretting Motherhood and has developed a lecture performance on the subject. Her main medium is photography, which saved her during the difficult time when she was alone with her child. Currently, she is preoccupied with the “little battles” with her pubescent daughter, both in playing with her and in everyday situations. Since 2023 she has been researching the topic
“performative photography as a method of body-oriented therapy for coping with crises and trauma”.
