"Manchmal wache ich nachts auf." The video installation ‘Night Vision’ moves around tipping points, nocturnal thoughts, responsibility, justice, generations, mobility and hope.
In my documentary films I use essayistic methods, ask questions, move around a subject and take on a variety of perspectives. The essayistic approach allows me to openly show my subjectivity, to present my perspectives and attitudes in a comprehensible manner and thus allows me to resist the objectivity assumed by journalistic documentary films. It is an artistic procedure that allows me to artistically interpret what I have seen, found, and what has happened.
I experiment with reality as well as with filmic documentary forms. My artistic interpretation is more like a paraphrase than a definitive representation: by looking at my subject from multiple perspectives, I organize these aspects, they overlap and so new images are created and spaces open up for possibilities, other thoughts and directions.
The video installation ‘Night Vision’ moves around tipping points, nocturnal thoughts, responsibility, justice, generations, mobility and hope.
