Making art is a daily ritual for Boukje Janssen, and a reaction to the world that surrounds her. In her art, she captures unique experiences and daily gestures in an expression that transcend the physical dimension of the artistic object. Without trying to give answers to specific questions, or imposing a specific point of view, Janssen’s works are meant to open the viewers mind and soul with sensibility and harmony.

Inclusivity is one of the qualities that I have developed through my creative practice.
I persist on including all forms of expression that occur to me, without conforming to a single language or trying to organize the works into some sort of understanding.
Even each work has its own meaning, all of them together they become a structure, and endless field.
I am mostly interested in what the whole body of work will reveal over time, rather than interpreting each one of them individually in a linear time frame.
A friend of mine calls this a life attitude, someone else may see a mess. To me it feels like nature. Being is all about inclusiveness.
