Roswitha Weingrill is a visual artist living in Vienna, Austria. Her artistic work deals with sociological phenomena, scientific fringe areas and the deconstruction of global issues into locally relevant aspects. She appreciates craftsmanship and is interested in the digital aiming to combine both interests. Since her studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna she has been working on her dissertation alongside her exhibition activities and co-ran the art space KOMM.ST LAB somewhere in the Austrian countryside. Her projects often begin with drawings, take detours via textile objects, include the formation of salt crystals sometimes an end up in the water occasionally.

Artist residencies led her to Shanghai, Slovakia, Italy and Austria. She has exhibited at the Volkskundemuseum Vienna, Forum Stadtpark Graz, ACF London & Bratislava, rotor Graz, Le Cube in Rabat, Kunstforum Montafon, Lehartheater Bad Ischl and as part of the HochsommerKunstFestival in Burgenland. Her work has been awarded with the Theodor Körner Award, START Award from the Federal Ministery of Culture Austria, a working grant from the City of Graz and the Kunstraum Steiermark grant.
